All Things
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 HCSB
God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons we could not learn in any other way. The way we learn those lessons is not to deny the feelings but to find the meanings underlying them. Stanley Lindquist*
The softball was flying straight towards me. I was determined to catch it and make the final out of the game. However, I missed it altogether and it hit me firmly in the face directly above my right eye. I stammered a bit then fell to the ground. Both teams ran to see if I was o.k. Jokingly, I picked up the ball, tagged the batter out, and said, “Hey, all things do work together for the good of those who love the Lord.”
Most of the times in my life, however, I do not joke when I am faced with struggles. I whine and complain when I should be looking for the good.
Lord, help me to remember that You are always working for my good.
